Kutztown, Pennsylvania is a small borough located in Berks County. Its population of 5,012 makes it one of the smaller towns in the county. In terms of politics, Kutztown has been represented by the Democratic Party for many decades. The current mayor is Democrat James J. Schlegel who has held office since 2017 and was re-elected in 2020. Additionally, local elections are held every two years to elect three council members, all of whom are currently Democrats. Overall, Kutztown remains a largely Democratic town with progressive values that have been reflected in its political leadership over the years.
