Everson, Washington is a small town in Whatcom County with a population of about 1,900. Though it is not a major political hub, local politics still play an important role in the community. Currently, the mayor of Everson is Janice Kirschbaum and she is backed by the City Council which consists of five members. The City Council works to ensure that all citizens' voices are heard and to make sure that decisions are made with the best interests of the town in mind. In addition to the local government, there are also several active political organizations such as the Everson Citizens for Political Action and Everson United Voters that help promote civic engagement and keep citizens informed about local politics.
