No longer for us. Bye bye CG. - 4/5/2022
I’ve lived in Casa Grande for 47 years. The first 37 I would have given it 4 start and said I loved the place. The past ten years this city has become a haven for those fleeing California. The number of drug busts, housing prices and taxes have all went up like crazy in recent years. Add to it the fact that our city leadership fell for a giant scam known as PhoenixMart. They have sold the cities soul to bring in every manufacturer who is sniffing for a place to land l and it seems they approve anything being built without consideration for the ground water that’s being drained at a record pace. The traffic is getting terrible, the entitled acting snowbirds get really old after a few weeks and seem to be staying longer and longer each year. The California folks found us a few years ago and the Californication had begun. Housing prices are outrageous and the wages haven’t kept up. Everything I loved about living in a smaller tow has been tossed to the side for a pro growth regardless Read More

Casa Grande Overall - 1/26/2014
I moved to Casa Grande from Washington state in November 2011. The first thing I realized was that the rent here for a modest but comfortable 3 bed 2 bath house (my home is 750.00 per month and 1440 square feet) is nearly half the cost of what it was in Washington, VERY affordable!
The town in small enough to navigate easily but large enough to have the majority of amenities one could want or need. One small hinderance to those who enjoy the night life is that other than the two clubs/restaurant/bars everything closes around 9pm Mon-Sat and completely closed for business on Sundays, we hate that. If you yearn for more entertainment, eating options and family fun then phoenix or Tucson are 45 to 90 minutes away with lots going on in both areas.
In my opinion, I like that we have the option of travel to either the phx or Tucson metropolitan areas for activities because that way, we get all the opportunities without having to deal with the over inflated population and Read More

Life in Casa Grande - 6/2/2010
I have travel to all 50 states. I have owned a home in Casa Grande 2 years. There are some hot months May 15 thur Sept 15th. You really need a Pool here. It really helps me cool off. The rest of the Year the wheather is Great I am 52 and I have seen the whole county change. People are lost and have no Hope. Maybe now would be a good time for them to turn to God. He gives me Hope, Love, Joy and Peace... The Canadian's are nice people. I have met lots of them Here. Although I have made many travels in Canada seeing 8 of there providence's...I like Casa Grande. Not to expensive and we have most of the stores and things we need. If not, were close to Phoenix and Tucson. That is, If we need to see the crowd or some attend great winter activities....Arizona in whole does have the best whether period for 8 months of the year. I know people will always come to our great state. I also Have some great Mexican friends..( Their are good white people, black people, and mexican and latino people.. Read More

living part time in Casa Grande. - 5/25/2009
We are retired...we are California natives. Last year we bought a new vacation home in Meritage Family area. We enjoy an all age community. The homes start at $119,000. The folks in Casa Grande are friendly and helpful. The Parkway Mall across the way has everything ,one could wish for Movie complex , Restaurants,Target all the ones still in business. We are close to the I-10, for ease of travel. We live about 6 months in Arizona, when the weather is the best. The Neighborhood Watch program, is very helpful, and keeps things safe. We have a 5 acre water park, with an association fee of $255. quarterly. Convenient, between Phoenix and Read More

Heat and Sun - 10/13/2008
We bought a home to retire to several years ago. We love AZ and can't wait to retire in a few years. It is hot in the summer but, honestly, with the humidity in the Northeast it is actually more comfortable. I recommend AZ to Read More

this place shuts down ater 9pm - 10/31/2006
Casa Grande is between Tuscon and The Phoenix Metro area, although most people have a prefrence of Tuscon or PHX so the equality of distance dosn't seem to be an advantage to most. You have to drive an hour and a half to get to Tuscon and 30-50 minutes to get to a destination in Chandler or PHX.

There is not much to do in the town as far as entertainment, there is no culture. Everything closes at 9pm or earlier, and there is a horrible drug problem here.

It is relatively peacful here, there are a lot of new homes, the cost of living is great, rent is cheap, and if you don't mind seeing the same people everywhere you will get to like the town.

If you have kids I wouldn't allow them to attend Casa Grande High school, it is horrible, or so I Read More

My family and I moved to Casa Grande, a small community of approximately 30,000 people. We live about 10 miles out of town on a small parcel of land, where we grow grapes, have planted an orchard to include apple, peach, plum and apricot and orange trees and plan on extending our orchard to include berries, depending what ones will do well.

Thank
