Hayden is a beautiful place with wretched weather. Cold, dreary, grey days are the norm from late Oct to late May. There is no “Spring” in Hayden. It can barely eeek out of the 30’s! No one talks about it either.

Beautiful but there is a "but"... - 9/18/2018
Hayden is beautiful, but all of North Idaho is getting very crowded. Wages are low; cost of living has gotten pretty high. Maybe we just have bad luck, but we live in a neighborhood where the neighbors turn each other in often for loud music, dogs barking. We have heard these things but chose to ignore it. But since we are the newest, some think it's us. There is no respect for private property in our neighborhood. They park on your grass. The kids ride bikes through others' yards. One of the neighbors reported us for putting some boulders along our grass edge. The neighbor had been parking in our grass and had used his plow to tear up our grass and make room for his truck in the snow. When we asked him to stop, he retaliated by revving his truck past our house for months and turning us in for the rocks. The City of Hayden/sheriff's department was okay with him tearing up our yard and harassing us. They were not okay with our rocks and said we did not get the proper permit. I am 52

Its a beautiful city, people,are very friendly, wages are low housing high, and the courts are the worst they will put you in jail and throw the book at you. Crime rate is low, 4 seasons

quiet and relaxed - 4/10/2013
i moved here from florida, was not easy , but worth it,,, i wanted to get out of the hot and humid days, so this place is nice, many lakes,lots of people with recreation type vehicles, and boats, canoes, and biking as there are many places to ride your bike, also very easy getting around and with couer d'alene just a few miles away there is plenty to do there also. has a campus there, big medical center, plenty of shopping. but people here are very mellow, slow going, and that s okay with me. rent is reasonable, unlike where i was in florida.weather is good, always cool at night, never too hot and humid in summer, a bit cloudy through the winter, but no place is perfect, you just deal with it. there are mountains to the north,south,west and east,, surrounds you with beauty and the beauty of trees everywhere, beautiful fall colors. not many jobs though,but opportunity to start a business with limited funds.great place for kids, my son loves it here, and my wife loves the change, in
