Jefferson is a Gem - 1/29/2018
We moved to Jefferson from another state and love it here. We've been made to feel welcome by so many folks. People are kind here and there's a focus on the community. There's also a vitality missing so many other places these days. We have some fabulous local restaurants, a good library, a rec center and there are lots of festivals and events throughout the year. Jefferson is connected by bike trail to Des Moines, some 70 miles southeast. Ames is located about 40 miles due east on US 30, so although we are a stand alone small town, we're close enough to larger places to get in when we need to.
