Longton is one of the nicest places I have ever lived and I have been all over the U.S.. Its close to good fishing. Good camping facilities. Only 30 miles from Independence Ks. Everyone knows everyone. All though were not all buds we get along as a community and look out for one another in a sence. The people are down home and earthy. We still put in big gardens and can our produce for winter use.We have a great school and the children run about town freely with out fear. Someones always got a watchful eye out. Sure were all a little corn fed and enjoy the little things in life but all in all I would say it is one of the nicest places I have ever lived.We put our big x-mas tree up on main street and every one gets together and decorates.We have community get togethers at city hall and every one brings a covered dish.
