Home Owners Opinion of Holt,MI - 7/27/2014
Surrounded by shopping, dining, auto sales and repair, Coffee shops and convenience stores, large High School with average academic success but strong sports programs in a nice setting.
Typical suburb with older neighborhoods up to new construction. High property taxes, high water and sewer rates. Low crime, does have a curfew for minors. Rules about storage of cars, boats, travel trailers, ATV's on your property. Home owners are expected to take care of their property and belongings, subject to fines if you violate township ordinances, ordinances are enforced. High school sports are full of cliques and student participation on sports teams is very much about who you associate with, lot's of politics. Some community parks nothing fancy. Predominately white, above average household income. For the amount of taxes paid a better education could be received in nearby cities; Okemos, Dewitt, Haslett, East Lansing, Grand Ledge or at the private christian schools.
