Don't sell the ski resort(Big Mtn/Whitefish)!! - 10/14/2018
I love Whitefish! While I love Whitefish, I worry about the future. Whitefish has been a wonderful place to live for years. People are friendly & you know everyone. However, everything is changing. Word has gotten out and the west coast is moving in. Cannabis is getting to be rather common. Home prices shot through the roof some 8 years ago, and is only now starting to come down. Tax is way too high! They keep increasing taxes and don't lower taxes when projects are paid off even though promised. I hope to run for city council to help preserve the future. Water issues are common and there is a small war ensuing over it! With all of the fishing, hunting, and gun mfg around the area, it's hard to believe that it is a liberal community! Whitefish is a resort town with a resort tax, cleaner and better managed that neighboring Kalispell, but also more expensive to live in.
