Sure, we occasionally have some bad weather and the tax/utility costs are excessive, but overall, we get a lot for our total cost of living. With the cities of Buffalo and Niagara Falls (U.S. & Canada) nearby, we have excellent cultural resources. The many colleges and universities also contribute to the wide variety and high quality. Amherst is less than 10 miles from Lake Erie and the Niagara River and less than 15 miles from Lake Ontario for unparalleled summer recreation opportunities. It gets too hot and humid during peak summer. Everyone living in the North East goes through 6 months of cold weather and I have no complaints about that, but out of the 5 or so "summer" months we get, 3 of those months are very humid and uncomfortable. As I previously recorded my information givin still remains the same. This is a great place to live, very inexpensive, Awesome schools, great shopping and minutes away from Canada. Lets not forget 8hrs away from NY City, also were not that far from ohio. The only catch is you have to love the snow!
