Pickerington gets about the same weather as Columbus Ohio but most of the severe weather in the summer goes north of Columbus so Pickerington gets mostly rain.

Perks of Pickerington, OH - 8/4/2011
Being a suburb of one of America's biggest cities has its perks. We reap all the cultural benefits without all the urban disadvantages. Pickerngton is a smallish, tight-knit community with many upscale but affordable homes,several parks and top knotch schools. Our schools' academic, athletic and extra curricular programs are nationally recognized. Living "next door" to Columbus means we also reap its rewards. Columbus has a wonderful symphony, an art museum, and other than N.Y., Chicago and L.A., few cities offer the live theatre quality of Columbus. Columbus is a host of the Broadway across America series, we have many wonderful small theater companies, and fabulous productions from the many colleges in the area. (not to mention the educational opportunities from having a concentration of so many colleges nearby.) Our own Pickerington North high school boasts a beautiful performing arts center with consistently superb productions whose elaborate sets rival those on Broadway

I highly recommend moving to Pickerington. My husband and I relocated here 3 years ago and we have been very pleased. The schools are excellent and there are a lot of oopportunities for families here. Also, housing is not as expensive as in other parts of Central Ohio with excellent schools. There is still a lot of property available and I can go 2 miles and still see farmland. I am also very close to grocery stores, Kohl's (my favorite store) and many restaurants. The only thing we don't have in Pickerington is a mall, but that's probably a good thing for my pocketbook. Also worth mentioning is a wonderful parks and recreation program here. My kids have been able to learn horseback riding, art lessons, drama, etc. at reasonable prices. Pickerington is definitely worth a second
