Commerce, TX is a small town located in the northeast region of Texas. It is known for its vibrant culture and friendly community. The locals are proud to call themselves \"Commerceites,\" and visitors can expect to find plenty of things to do in this small town. From unique shopping experiences, delicious local cuisine, and outdoor activities, there's something for everyone in Commerce. There are also several parks and festivals throughout the year that draw people from all over Texas.
Reviews of Commerce, TX have generally been overwhelmingly positive. Visitors enjoy the friendliness of the townsfolk as well as the many amenities that the city has to offer. Many have commented on how much they appreciate being able to experience a true “sense of community” while visiting Commerce. Other reviews highlight the richness of culture that exists in the city, such as its music scene or its many historic sites and monuments. People are often surprised by how much there is to do in such a small town!

Commerce Texas is a community that is shriveling. The town has a branch of the A&M system here and should be thriving. I have only been here 1 year, and listening to residents and local politicians voice their view, has led to my decision to finish my grad degree and LEAVE! The heat is unbearable (summers are in the 100teens). The price of everything (gasoline, groceries, services)is higher than surrounding communities, which leads one to believe the local community is gouging college students at the expense of watching their town....die....along with themselves. This town should be renamed-Anti-Commerce, as it is clear the residents are threatened by and do not encourage growth. The college adds 11,000 people to the town, however, even businesses and franchises do not invest here...only a Mcdonalds, Braums and Walmart exist. No recreation exists. Quality of Life Cautions in Commerce - 7/26/2009
Being a college town, there are people that will take advantage of new comers to town, Before renting an apartment or house, check with the commerce housing authority, city hall, police department to see if your prospective landlord or landlords manager is known to them. In recent events I called the police department to file a complaint, the dispatcher related to me information, that I wish I has known before renting from this particular property manager, that habitually bullies tenants because they are low income and/or young and dont know any better.
Renters Beware. if at all possible only rent from legitimate companies and stay away from mom and pop wannabees. Read More
