It's Home. - 11/4/2011
Lived in Richardson for 40 years and it's home. Good schools, hospitals, emergency services, retail and restaurants. Fair weather and slightly high but reasonable cost of living, but jobs are plentiful here due to the diversified economy. But you will need a car here, after all it's Texas.  Read More

Great place to live - 8/20/2010
It's great to live in a neighborhood. Better yet a community. It is relatively quiet and peaceful. Having lived in the city (Dallas) for a number of years it was a welcome change. Lots to do, has it's own newspaper. There are recreation centers, lots of parks, bike and walking trails, malls and a variety restaurants of worldwide flavors. There is strict code enforcement. Excellent schools (RISD). Great place to raise a family or to retire. Several nursing homes and a great Senior Center. "HOT" in the summer which usually lasts from May to September and relatively mild winters. Read More

My wife and I have lived in Richardson for 4 years now. Richardson is like anywhere else in terms of it depends on what you are looking for. Richardson has a lot of things to offer. The cost of living is wonderful; you can by a house for a little over $100,000 that will put you next to a wonderful park, great schools, and easy access to the city of Dallas, while being Read More

Memory from the past - 10/28/2006
I lived off coit rd / cambell rd: I went to JJ Pierce HS and we loved our town. I have to admit my memories are all good. I loved the Clean enviroment, and honest people. Granted this was 1980-83. Today I only know that Coit rd/Cambell rd is a major intersection, and Plano HS still kicks Butt. In my humble opinion the area was prime for raising kids (from experience) and the culture was not RED-NECK: We always saw North Dallas, Richardson and Garland, Addison..as LA..in the middle of Texas. I recommend Richardson to anyone who can afford it. BE advised that Now-A-Days..Traffic is really bad, and LBJ freeway is as bad as it always has been. NOTE: Dallas is not Really...a "HOUSTON" type city..it is a WANT-A-BE..Los Read More

High Tech city. - 3/6/2006
I grew up in Richardson.

Jessica Simpson grew up here.

Its a great place to live. The city is not as pretentious as some of its neighbors.

Fantastic schools that are some of the best in Texas, and a diverse population. The school district is considered one of the top 5 in the county when it comes to music education

Some of the area in Richardson aren't that great, but for the most part its a safe city.

The city is a major technology center with over 700 high tech companies located in Richardson such as Texas Instruments, Nortel, Read More
