Bridgewater is a small college town in the Shenandoah Valley about 10 mi. south of Harrisonburg. With excellent public and private schools from pre-k through college within the town limits, it is a delightful place for families and couples of all ages. The town is governed by a town council with a full-time town Superintendent. It has a number of totally delightful public parks and walking paths, a superior retirement community, and even an IGA grocery store that harkens back to the '40s and '50s in terms of friendliness and helpfulness.
