Northern Virginia - 11/20/2010
My wife an I have live in Centreville since 1995. In that time we have seen the area grow tremendously. The Northern Virginia area has much to offer including quick access to the nation's capitol. The area is rich in history and culture, but the traffic is extremely heavy and getting more so everyday. If you come to Northern Virginia, expect delays. Read More

Economy - 8/17/2009
We have lived in the same house for 22 years. Raised two sons who are independent and working. One son has a family and the other is searching for a mate.
The economy in the DC suburbs has been robust for most of the 30 years we have lived here. We have had our moments in 1991-1992 and currently in 2009 but overall the economy has been solid.
This has had a positive influence on home prices. We originally paid $164,000 in 1987 and have seen valuations go as high as $600,000 in 2006. We fell off to a possible low of $407,000 earlier this year and are on the rise again.
Good neighbors. Supportive and Read More

Traffic Nightmare - 7/24/2007
I lived in Centreville for 3-4 years. I have also lived in Annandale, Alexandria and Arlington. Centreville is a nice area with newer homes but the traffic getting into Arlington or DC is terrible. The area is ethnically diverse which I view as great attribute however due to language and cultural barriers it makes it hard to know your nieghbors. It would take me 60-90 minutes to commute 23 miles. Thats at least 2 hours and usually more a day in the car commuting! I lived in a nieghborhood where people spent so much time commuting that you never saw them. Public transportation is available but it doesn't save you anytime in Read More

Centreville Virginia - 5/9/2006
Located about 20 miles west of Washington DC. Nice peaceful family community. Very convenient to the National Museums (Smithsonian) and National Zoo (all free). All major sports are here. Great variety of restaurants. You get all of the seasons. Great job opportunities. Even close to the mountains. Now the down side – housing prices are through the roof. I plan to retire in four years and move to a year round warm climate, close to the beach and Read More
