Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, a rural area, are stuck in Plato’s cave. It has an uneducated population who are isolationist and protectionist who will be left behind while the world moves ahead. Like other rural areas in this nation that have similar demographics. A startling statistic that probably plays throughout rural America, at least in the north, 53% of the population between the ages of 30 to 70 and 52% of those, for the most part, uneducated white males who are ruining the world. These people are erroneously and profoundly rooted in their beliefs, with 60% of the population of this county voting for, happily to say, ex-president Trump. Leaving as soon as I can - 9/26/2006
I have lived in Chippewa Falls all my life- almost 26 years. At first glance, a visitor would think that it is a quiet quaint town. However, the novelty wears off quickly if you stay for more than a day. There is very little to do around town and if you want to go shopping you are limited to Kmart or Wal-Mart, unless you feel like driving to the mall in Eau Claire- about 20 minutes or so away. I would say that the nightlife in Chippewa mainly consists of drunken hicks. Alcoholism is an epidemic here. Seriously, my friends and I avoid driving after 2am because of bar close. The jobs here are non-existent and you pretty much must work in Eau Claire. Most of the jobs pay horribly even if you are educated. I have a B.S. in biology and I make $12/hr!
