Not good for families - 10/17/2005
I have lived in Tucson for 20 years and there has been NO progress at all in planning. It amazes me that a city that is growing so rapidly has absolutely no vision for its future. Progress happens by default, not by planning...and believe me, it's not good at all. Crime is the highest in the nation and per capita income is the lowest. The school sytem is at or near the bottom in the country as well. The natural beauty is the only thing that has kept us here this long, but that is far from enough. We are leaving as soon as we

Not Like California - 10/15/2005
I've been to Phoenix but never to Tucson. I always wanted to go there. However,
after reading the review about CALIFORNIANS, being a Californian, How do you think
I feel? I was born and raised in California and everyone from everywhere (literally) on the face of the Earth came to California and ruined it for those of us who grew up here. At least we have beaches, world class cities and culture. Tucson sounds like it really sucks, bunch of whiners with nothing to do but breathe dust and live in dirt.

California in the making - 9/14/2005
We have visited Tucson several times, & always wanted to relocate here. Now that we are here, I am disappointed. Yes, summers are hot, but tolerable. The housing situation has gotten ridiculous over the last couple of years. All of the Californians' moving here have really increased the prices for housing. The worst is the catalina foothills, looking at the people here you would have thought you were in California. Education is not the greatest here. Supposedly the foothills is the best, in the Tucson area. But it is still not great if you compare it to other
