New Comfort Index is misleading - 8/15/2017
The new comfort index for Lake Elsinore is 78. I lived in Lake Elsinore for 10 years, and there are usually 100+ days that the temperature is over 90, and several weeks where the Temperature is over 100. Yes it is dry, although humidity has seemed to increase over the years. Still, I would have to say that the comfort level should be far lower, probably in the Read More

To someone thinking of moving to Lake Elsinore I really want to write this to you because I was in you position a year and a half ago. I was living in Delmar NY, a small town outside of Albany NY. Delmar was somewhere in the tip 25 places to live based on loc crime, school rating, libraries, parks, low work commute time, little traffic etc. For 10 years i left the key in ,my cars, house unlocked, bicycles outside, you name it. It is a very nice quiet town. Keep that in mind when you read my posting.
I visited southern California on our search to find a place to live without the harsh upstate NY winters, and lots of outdoor things to do, without the south east coast humidity. On then trip spending a couple days looking north and south between San diego and L.A., from the coast as far inland as Palm Springs. We found lake Elsinore right between San Diego and L.A. and about an hour inland. On a smaller scale right between temecula and corona (which were nice but too Read More

Up and Coming - 5/18/2007
The City of Lake Elsinore is undergoing a facelift. It is being resurfaced with beatiful homes and businesses. The location is perfect. It's within a hour drive of Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County, but just far enough away from the caios and rediculous cost of living. The citie's backbone are the families who call Lake Elsinore home. The new neighborhoods are built around family and the city is shifting to this form of acitecture as well. Soon, the lake will be surrounded with shore front townhomes and marinas next to the beautiful brand new baseball Read More

Lake Elsinore is beautiful... - 4/19/2006
...but new housing and shopping centers are growing rapidly, causing me a concern that the environment will soon be consumed with smog, over-congestion, and under-developed infrastructure. The town is still small, but I see it being a huge city in 10 years. Good-bye country life...
