A Wannabe Newport Beach. - 4/30/2022
Beautiful, but for the wealthy. If you make less than 150K, you won't be able to afford to live here. Even for Southern California, MV is off-the-chart expensive. A men's haircut here cost almost $40. The people can be very snobby and standoffish. When we first moved here and started meeting people, a woman told me that she 'knew someone' who was 'good with noses.' That sums up Mission Viejo. This is snobby Orange County at its absolute worst. You'll get treated better in Laguna Beach or Newport Beach (both of which contain FAR more wealth than MV) than you will here. MV is the wannabe Newport Beach; it's where people live who want to be snobby and are probably wealthy, but don't have quite enough money to live in NB. We've lived here for two years and that's enough for me to know I won't miss it when we move in a few months. Read More
