You may think it's a good place to live - 8/23/2016
I agree, I lived in the Roaring Fork Valley (Glenwood Springs to Aspen) for 22 years. The area is nothing more than a bunch of 'Money Mongers, liars, and thieves'. The rent is astronomical for what is offered, land is overpriced, and landlords; like I said, (MMs) will not make repairs until you have to report them to the housing authorities! Crime is going up. The town of Carbondale (once a quaint artistic cultural town; is now Llittle Mexico with the crime, too! Don't go there unless you are a billionaire and can live in Aspen; however, you will then be around the snootie kind, maybe you like Read More

NOTHING TO DO.... - 11/16/2006
This is a small town, housing is expensive you can't find a decent one unless it is high 400,000 or more... Nothing much to do if you are young, and/or single...There is only 2 years college around .University the closest one is 1 and 1/2 hours away or more. Very inconvenient...Nice place if you like hiking, skiing. Shopping places...only JC Penny, Walmart and Target. I can't wait to get outta here...so Read More

Cost of Living... - 7/19/2006
Wow! My husband and I knew it would be steep when we moved, but housing prices have gone up drastically in just the four months since we've moved here! They've basically flown up out of our budget and we're now stuck throwing away money on rent. It IS a beautiful place to live, though, and I love the small town atmosphere. The recreation abounds in the area and the opportunities to hike, bike, ski, camp, etc. are endless. If you can handle the cost of living, it's a great place to live.
