Florida's BEST kept secret.....shhhhhh! - 5/25/2018
I grew up in Miami, BEFORE you had to wear a bullet proof vest to live there! I have lived in 9 other states and moved back to Fla over 2 years ago. First to Naples (too many people, stores and traffic) and then to what many call zero Vero! Personally, I love it here. Good restaurants and crime is not as bad as most places in Florida and when the snowbirds go home, not too many drivers on the road! I am glad we don't have bars on every corner and if someone has that mindset then perhaps Ft. Pierce is a better choice! I am only 40 minutes from Melbourne if I need something I can't find here and enjoy the drive. PLEASE tell EVERYONE that they do NOT want to move to VERO! Let's keep this our secret! And, definitely do not tell them they can still buy a house here for under $200,000 or everyone will want to come here! So next time someone ask's if they should move to Vero Beach, send them to Naples on the West Coast or Miami....but not Read More

I love Florida! - 2/18/2010
I moved to Florida 5 years ago after living in Michigan for 38 years. It is heaven I love the summers and the winters. The air in Vero Beach is clean and you can go outside and enjoy. Even in the summers the morning and evening are so beautiful the skies will take your breath away. I am from the north but my heart is here I LOVE FLORIDA and I am very lucky to live Read More

Relaxation and the laid back life - 12/10/2008
I visited my friends in Vero Beach, stayed at South Beach Place on Ocean Drive for over a week and I love the quality of life since everyone is more or less laid back. The pace is comforting. The beaches, the library is beautiful although the computers are very high in demand, the Publix foodstores are wonderful with fine foods,Starbucks coffee shops, restaurants such as Mulligans and Ocean Grill at Sexton Plaza are not to be missed, same for Felix's Cuban Restaurant and Georgio's pizza on 17th St. I could go on and on.... There are plenty of places to walk your dog, people are very nice and friendly. I'm moving down here and I'm 56 years of age and need peace and tranquility with my hearing ear Read More

Young People Have Tought Time - 4/15/2008
Vero is a lovely town, nice weather 6 months out of the year-Summer is brutal, hot/humid and does not break until November. Beautiful beaches and very clean water. Having lived in Sarasota, FL on the Gulf of Mexico, Ponte Vedra in North Florida and raised in Santa Barbara, CA, the beaches in Vero are the best. Problem is, that's it. The cultural life is geared completely to the senior citizens and there is a shortage of things to do after 8:00 at night for any age. There is a serious lack of jobs for college grads and the town wants it that way. Very business un-friendly and the town father's discourage growth of any sort. Big divide between haves/have nots and growing, noticable "attitude" thrown off by both sides. Vero thinks it can live forever on retiree money but that's doubtful given the high number of homes for sale and the overall disgust with the property tax situation on the beachside. Dog friendly beaches are a plus as is the ease of getting around Read More

I like it quiet here! - 7/7/2007
I moved here one year ago and my husband and I picked Vero for a reason. We do not do the "night life" thing and we really like the beach. We are 15 minutes from the beach, 1 1/2 hours from Disney and great shopping in our back yard. For me, just leave the night life and the crime in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando or Jacksonville. I just pray Vero stays the way it Read More
