Who would want to move here ? - 6/11/2009
It's freezing cold in the winter with lots of snow, the cost of housing is outrageous, inner city crime is very high, everything is 200 years old, bleeding heart liberals eveywhere ......I guess if you have a strong desire for these things it's ok.Not for Read More

Boston is a great place to live...even with our cold, snowy winter. If you are a skier, the New Hampshire Mountains, a short drive away, can ameliorate the chill that comes over the city when the heavy snow falls. This past January was a record breaker for snowfall, and difficult to take. However...if you can weather out the few months that can be uncomfortable, the spring along the Charles River is spectacular, the city really has a life to it that blooms as the Commons and Gardens grow green, and the show marquees light up. The summers, though warm and muggy, are bustling with activity and the Red Sox! The fall....with crisp nights and trees all painted with nature's palete is unlike anything you've ever experienced. So if you are looking for a great place to live...buy a good winter jacket, a good shovel, good boots, and good gloves....choose to throw a snowball instead of a fit when the snow falls...and enjoy...for the rest of the year is Read More

theres truth in all of these comments - 3/21/2009
I have lived in 8 states and 2 countries and Boston women are amazing and the men seem pretty backwards to me and I was born in Texas, live in eugene OR now and the west coast women are the ones who are no good I mean they all look like ten yr old boys, I have not met one outgoing confident strong woman since being in OR. I also lived in Barnstable ma and they are about the silliest people you'll ever meet, they act like they don't want to know anyone and I myself didn't feel the need to be friendly to those codders and bostonians but soon as they realize you could care less about knowing them they get really odd towards you, they almost seemed baffled that you weren't interested in them. The men in neither west or east coast know how to talk to girls so being from Texas i had my hands full.On th wst coast guys talk to girls like they themselves are girls and east coast guys make me feel sorry for those lonely women who have to listen to hotheads who cant do nothing but annoy the Read More

Boston is a great place to live that's if you can afford it and have job. But all in all its historic value is like no other city in this country. It's amazing and the food is great too. The state has so much to offer. You have the ocean (Cape Cod), the mountains (New Hampshire), and the city all around you. Because Massachusetts is a small state it's really only a hop skip and jump to these place. That is truly one of the benefits of living here.
The winters are miserable, cold, and snowy, but the snow is not as much as you would think it would be. I would say it's colder than snowier here.
Sports and their fans here are like no other you find. It's an exciting time for Boston sports team and Bostonians love their sports teams. We seem to thrive on all of their successes.
Jobs are not plentiful at this time. It really is hard to find a job around here and most companies will hire you as a contract employee. Massachusetts is really a great place to live.Read More

Boston is the worst place to live and raise childr - 2/21/2009
If you are considering a move to Boston, consider again---the weather, people. the cost of living, the driving is unbearable---living here will make you a miserable person-because it it miserable!! The inner cities of Roxbury Dorchester and Mattapan are horrible!! Extremely violent and unsafe for a family who wants to live a good life--this is not the place for you--my husband and I are packing up our things and taking our children to the South this summer-after extensive research and visits--this is the place to be!! Boston Public Schools are also horrendous!!!! Please do not believe that you can not get a good paying job in the south--that is not true---and you think you are getting good pay in Boston and then look at your expenses and see it its worth it!! Don't move to Boston!!! You will be a crab in a barrell and never get Read More

Safe city - 2/19/2009
Boston is a great city to live in, only that winters can be harsh sometimes.Crime problems are reasonable given the size of the city. It has crime issues from time to time, like all other big cities in the US, but overall it's relatively Read More

Politics - 2/11/2009
It seems that everything here is all about politics. The police get paid double what a construction worker would make for being a flagperson. The snowplow drivers get paid to waste time and not do much work. The state complains about its budget and insists on raising taxes on everything, but won't do anything, such as fixing the problems I said, to help the Read More
