Life In Plymouth, Minnesota; The Best Place To Liv - 7/23/2008
I've lived in Plymouth, Minnesota since 1974 when we moved here from Arkansas by way of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I've always believed we made the best choice when we chose to purchase a home in Plymouth but Money Magazine has just confirmed that belief when they unveiled their top places to live in the United States and Plymouth, Minnesota was name The Number One Place to Live in these United States.

"A sense of home, parks and award-winning schools help put this Minnesota city at the top of Money's Best Places to Live list...Plymouth could have become just another Twin Cities suburb, but much more than 50,000 jobs keep residents working there. Home prices are within reason...The city's main school district is ranked among the top three in the state, and for culture Plymouth's open air amphitheater, the Hilde Performance Center, hosts
numerous summer concerts."

I've always loved living in Plymouth, It's so convenient to every location in the Twin Cities, Read More

Not for the faint of heart - 5/1/2008
I am a native of Illinois, however, I have lived in Minnesota for more years than I lived in Illinois. I am still in denial about the weather. I keep thinking, next year will not be so cold...Next year I will have more than 5 months to enjoy my screened porch (a must because of the mosquitoes). I plant many perennials every year, and only half of them come up the next year, the winters are very hard on gardeners. The dark, cold winters are a source of some depression for me, now that I am retired I hope to go away during February and March to get a new perspective on Read More

A great place to live - 4/19/2006
Plymouth has an easy commute to downtown Minneapolis.

It has two major school districts: Wayzata (generally the West side of I-494) and Armstrong (East of 494).

The air is clean. We have great parks: Three Rivers Park district on the N. side of Medicine Lake for one; Parkers Lake Park is another.

The government is responsive and operates efficiently

The famous 4th Baptist church (125 years old) recently relocated from Minneapolis to Plymouth (on Hwy 55). Definitely worth checking Read More

Great place to live - 6/13/2005
We've lived in Plymouth for 9 years (having moved here from Denver).

It is an EZ commute to downtown Minneapolis. We live on the E side of Plymouth and we are just 13 miles from downtown. The commute is EZ because of the 394 corridor.

Plymouth is served by two school districts: Wayzata (generally W of 494) and Robbinsdale (E of 494). Our children all graduated from Armstrong H.S. and were well prepared for college.

Housing is expensive but frankly housing in all of the Twin Cities is expensive.

Plymouth has some very nice parks and two lakes of note: Medicine Lake and Parker’s Lake. There is a City owned indoor ice rink (with three rinks). Also available is a Life Time Fitness center that is very nice.

The Plymouth city government is very responsive: they answer the phone, respond to emails and communicate clearly.Read More
