A nice place - 9/3/2011
We lived in Valley City for more than 2 years and found it to be a nice place. The only exception is the presence of a small but vocal anti-government group in the county.
The school system is very good, there is a lot of community involvement by citizens, and interesting events like "Rally in the Valley", "Sodbuster Days" and the annual "Winter Show". There is the Sheyenne Valley National Scenic Byway and Lake Ashtabula for outdoor recreation. It is a great for hunting and fishing.
The cost of living is low and Fargo is only an hour away for those looking for access to the amenties of a larger city.
