If you really want to see and feel the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, please watch "Welcome to Collinwood".. NONE of those actors or actresses are from Cleveland, however, you couldnt convince that they arent, if I didnt know they werent.. Superb acting..SO SO SO VERY Cleveland, Ohio.. Right down to Carmilla, (Jennifer Esposito), and Basil (Andrew Davoli)...Cosimo, ALL the actors...Michael Jeter, Sam Rockwell..Patricia Clarkson..William Macy..Right down to a funeral home, in Garfield Heights. Wonderful city to grow up in, and raise a family - 9/5/2014
First off, let me say, I love Cleveland.. There is a bonding with Clevelanders, Ive never seen, anyplace else, and Ive lived all over the country.. One hand really does, wash the other, there.. Maybe its because they always seem to get such a bad rap, there is a bonding with people you dont even know, just because you are all in the same city. Ive never felt unsafe there, despite the crime rate. The east side suburbs, Ive never been impressed with, but the west side suburbs, are like going back in time. People are caring, considerate, educated, let you out in traffic, and dont have cracked windshields and missing mufflers. People are good natured, and nice. They are friendly, but NOT imposing as in other smaller Ohio towns. Cleveland is EASY to live in and pretty hassle free. Its not a chore to open a bank account, get your gas turned on, etc..If you are thinking on every moving to the Midwest, I hope that you will consider the Cleveland, Ohio area. There is a place for EVERYONE here, Read More

The local art scene is amazing but underrated. Be sure to check out the new Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland.  Read More

Great climate if you like snow - 5/28/2012
First, you should know that Cleveland gets A LOT of cloudy days. If you require sun, you may want to look elsewhere (or buy a plant lamp). I actually like Cleveland's climate. It is usually milder in the summer than most other places. In the winter, it does get cold. Snowfall amounts vary drastically. The East side generally gets more than the West. If you are moving to Cleveland, make sure you find a home with good windows and insulation or you will suffer during the cold winter months. Be sure to plan for driving in snowy conditions as well as having snow removed. If you can handle snow and lots of cloudy days, you will love Cleveland's Read More

The suburbs and people overall are pleasant and fr - 5/23/2011
It is true that Cleveland is one of the few cities in the world that get the " lake effect snow". But the upside to that is if you bundle up and venture outside, the streets are beautiful under the soft glow of the streetlights, the trees are draped in lacey white veils and a peacefulness descends upon the once bustling neighborhoods. The spring/summer/fall months are often beautiful in their varying colors and activies. And the Metroparks system is unlike any I have ever seen in any other city. My daughter Brynne and I would walk among deer, beaver and geese(North Chagrin Reservation) or bike/rollerskate and sit beside the waterfalls(Berea Reservation) and always have a fabulous time. The city is easy to access compared to other big cities and is quite easy to get around,traffic-wise. Berea on the west-side is an excellent place to raise a family and there are really quite nice suburbs on both sides of town. The art museum and Cleveland symphony are second -to -none and Cleveland Read More

Cleveland has its blemishes - 1/9/2011
Grew up in Cleveland, lived in Nashville, Louisville, and now in Cleveland suburb. Cleveland has crime & grime like most medium cities. Great areas just outside of city. Very good public transit, cultural venues, medical facilities. The people are mostly friendly, The folks that don't think we're friendly-well every town has snobs and idiots. Night life is very poor for younger set except on the weekends. Lots of winter activities (although I don't care for it). High taxes, especially where I live, but the housing stock is great and inexpensive, and oh yes, suburbs are great places to raise children, but not Cleveland proper. Hope this Read More

Many Offerings, Cold Winter - 1/6/2011
I have always been a warm weather person, so winters in Cleveland are tough for me. If it weren't for the cold, snowy, and gray winter days, I would be happy to stay here. There are many recreational, cultural, sports, and medical offerings here from professional sports, to amusements parks, to wineries, to wonderful theater. To name a few: The Cleveland Cavs/Browns/Indians, The Cleveland Clinic, Case Western, Cedar Point, Playhouse Square, etc. There are beautiful country roads for Sunday drives. Mentor Headlands Beach is great on Lake Erie. The waterfront needs to be developed further in Cleveland.  Read More

Cleveland is full of snobs - 11/26/2010
Laura from Beechwood is exactly why I cant stand Cleveland. Like she advised me not to generalize a group of people, she generalized me by saying I need to go to more than sports bars in Cleveland. And you know why? she assumed that I just go to sports bars because I didn't mention anything cultural, its annoying just using that word ,So nauseating ,people like her that live in Cleveland think they are better than everyone else. They automatically think your "simple" if you aren't all fake and brag about all the stupid facts you know about the Read More
