The best kept secret - 9/14/2021
Anderson is a wonderful place to live! We’ve moved around quite abit. We had searched many places and one day by accident I came across Anderson on the internet. We decided to drive there and check it out ourselves. We drove all over and the more we saw the more we loved it. We lined up a realtor for the next weekend and found a home we loved at first sight. It’s been two years and we love it here. The people are so nice, it’s beautiful, it’s got a small town atmosphere with all the amenities you could possibly want. The weather is great. As far as I’m concerned It’s the best kept secret ever. I hope it stays that Read More

Anderson has much to offer! - 3/11/2020
Anderson has much to offer! Two well know established colleges, Lake Hartwell, Lake Secession, parks galore, plenty of shopping, two Wal-Marts, plenty of grocery stores, nice restaurants, coffee shops, libraries, gas stations, banks, government buildings, statues, brick roads downtown, jockey lots that is very popular even by out of state visitors, low mid and high ranged housing market, apartments, hotels, pretty much all you would expect from a larger town. Most of all Anderson has hospitality, respect and honor that you only find in the south. If you are from another state and you wish to find out more I urge you to vacation here first it maybe a culture shock to you, but you will love it if you are open to a new way of life where people and the human race do matter. There are plenty of things to keep you and your family busy enjoys life but don't forget to sit on the porch and sip some nice cold iced tea and listen to the night that will be the best for true relaxation. I hope to Read More

Stolen Moments of Peace - 9/10/2009
To be quite honest I came to Anderson with City Snobbery... "these hicks and their camping stores every 5 feet, damn john deer, redneck fools" etc. I was miserable without a decent mall or Starbucks for miles! I felt like there was no culture, that there were no intellectuals in my area. I was a snob.

3 months into living here and I could never move to another state... Anderson, set inthe foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is picturesque in some places. We have a scenic highway, a great experiance around sunset or sunrise. We have Lake Hartwell which is a great place to bring the dog and enjoy the surrounding nature. It is peaceful without being remote, and it is fun without being dizzingly busy.

The weather... oh its beautiful in the fall! Having moved from New York, to Massachusetts, then to Florida before settling in Anderson, I know my fair share of varying weather! Anderson has the vibrant colors of a Massachusetts Autumn, the crisp cold air of New Read More

Don't move here if you're not a right-winged hypocritical bible thumper....i'm in a mixed relationship and am treated like a petting zoo....Not much to do for nightlife unless you go to a semi-dangerous redneck(wanna be hip-hop club)that rhymes with c.j. crispers.....If you go to a "black club" here you can expect random acts of violence....go to greenville for entertainment...if you're a family person there are two big, pretty nice theatres....oh yeah...and a huge flea market full of bootleg dvds, animals and knives. There is lake hartwell...however you can't each the fish you catch because the water has been long contaminated...you can travel to nearby clemson university to catch a football game....other than that it pretty much sucks...nothing but restaurants, banks, and gas stations....p.s. the mall is Read More

About Anderson - 11/8/2005
Anderson is a great place to live. We are half way between Charlotte, NC and Atlanta,GA. It will take you two hours to get to either place. The climate is great, not too hot, not too cold. We are close to the mountains and not too far from the sea. It takes about 45 minute drive to get to the mountains and a few hours to get to the Read More
