Dumas, TX is a small town located in the Texas Panhandle region. It has a rich history and culture, and its residents are known for their hospitality and friendliness. From outdoor activities like camping and fishing to unique attractions such as the Moore County Historical Museum, there’s plenty of things to do in Dumas. Visitors love the atmosphere and friendly locals, so it’s no wonder that Dumas, TX has earned some great reviews over the years. People praise the town for having plenty to see and do while still being an affordable destination compared to larger cities in Texas. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants that offer delicious local cuisine as well as a variety of shops where you can pick up souvenirs or items to take home with you. With all these positive attributes in mind, there’s no doubt that travelers will have an enjoyable time when visiting Dumas!

Small town full of crime - 11/6/2018
Lived here most of my life. It is, as another reviewer stated, unfortunately run by the large hispanic population. That in itself would not be bad at all because they have been around for a ling time but now the youth seem to not care about rules or law. Moved to a quaint home in a neighborhood with modest houses. Thought it was a nice neighborhood and I knew sone homeowners in the area so I thought it would be ok. It wasn't. Turns out some thieves and drug dealers lived next door by the alley. Lots to lots of illicit activity going on. I reported all of it. The police got to them but they just moved somewhere else and started up again. Keep in mind this is a small town and the crime is rampant in all places. This is a small town with nothing for the youth as far as entertainment because older white "priveleged" individuals will not foot anything due to possible tax raises or loittering. Dumas is a sleepy little town in the Texas Panhandle. Cost of living is low but so is quality of living. The town is dominated by the Hispanic population, many are illegal immigrants. Much of the employment is at Swift/Monfort, the beef packing plant in Cactus. Gangs are becoming more of a problem every year. The education system is geared around athletics, but the only successful sport is volleyball. Like most small towns, people care more about what you have than what kind of person you are.
