Frisco Texas sister city Irvine California ? - 1/23/2023
If I had to select a sister city that reminds me of Frisco, it would be Irvine California in the county of Orange. Super safe city, great police and school districts, arts, sports, colleges, gated upscale homes nice shopping and restaurants, location is excellent 25 min to two major airports, nearby lakes, golf, hike and bike trails. A ton of park and open spaces. Modern corporate complexes and medium to high rise beautiful shiny towers. What’s not to love? Well the weather definitely isn’t California but it’s always 2-5 degrees cooler than dallas in the summer, more rain than dallas as well, winters are cool but not horrible, annual freezes are the pits as it wipes out all green. Since I moved to Frisco from Irvine in 2019 I’ve been quite impressed and have fallen in love with it. I’d never go back to Irvine or likely anywhere in Read More

Paradise in North Texas - 7/17/2022
I have lived here for 25 years, honestly, its the safest, most clean place in the USA. You just cant go wrong moving here. Many of the low rankings on this site are jealous folks in DFW area, I see it Read More

Overhyped city - 4/24/2022
Most overhyped city in the area. I wrote another post detailing this but wasn’t posted here for some reason. They purposely overhype the city through any means possible and because of it this crowded no identity town is almost 30-40% more expensive than its border cities that in some cases are literally less than 15 minutes away from their overhyped shopping centers which should be only 5 minutes if not because of their crazy Read More

Very overrated city - 4/23/2022
I agree that it’s a very overrated city but it’s done by design. The way they push PGA relocating you would think it was Apple that was moving yet it may bring 100 jobs and 1-2 golf tournaments. The main problem is that Frisco has no identity and tries to copy the good of every city. The Mayor admitted he wanted high rises once he saw them across the street in Plano. They want to outperform Dallas when it comes to sports and duplicate McKinney’s historic downtown but have nothing unique to show. This has led to so many chains move to the city due to insane tax breaks which is causing the once small feeling relax city to become crazy busy and hectic and ok to visit but not a place to call Read More

City living with country charm - 10/31/2020
I have been a Frisco resident since 1983 off and on. I am on my second home here. Moved away breifly between wives but always returning here to call home. I have significant difficulty calling anywhere else home.
Simply stated Frisco is city living with country charm. Big enough to provide all the amenities of the big city but small enough to still provide that personal touch that is often lost in the bigger communities.
The schools are the real jems. I have a third grader and I am often provided updates on her progress; it is a collaborative effort and they genuinely want to hear my input. Not just to shine me Read More

Generic suburb full of the status-obsessed. - 12/19/2018
Never really understood why Frisco was so popular. It's easily the most overhyped, overpriced, and overrated suburb in the Metroplex. It's surrounded on two sides by toll roads, is in the middle of nowhere, has no public transportation, and the physical setting is flat, bland, and extremely unappealing. Despite all that, people still fall all over themselves to shell out $400k plus to live there. In case you're wondering - that's pretty close to Denver housing prices with absolutely none of the scenic appeal of the Rockies, but hey they have a mall, an IKEA, and a ridiculous number of chain Read More

One of the best places in the nation to live. - 7/19/2017
I've lived in Frisco since 1997 and it is one of the best places in the nation to live. Frisco is one of the few cities in the country that has managed to keep that small city atmosphere while continuing to grow. Everything is extremely convenient especially on the south side close to Plano--shopping, hospitals, sports, parks, schools, libraries, and recreation. The water and air are good. People are friendly and the community represents true diversity. Jobs are abundant. Even the roads are nice and wide and very smooth! The police and fire departments are great-- if you ever need them, they are there within minutes (not hours like Dallas or other big cities). Couldn't think of a better place to live.

I wrote this initial review in 2017 and Frisco has changed. It is overcrowded and overbuilt and very expensive. Crime is on the rise. There is always traffic. I moved and am not going Read More

crime is OK with some. - 11/5/2016
So we moved to Frisco! What a nice place, but the crime is a crying shame. We had a young man in our garage in day light stealing power tools. I had the jump on him and could have left him there for the coroner, but i did not want my son to be in school and a friend of his say my dad is gone he was stealing power tools and my son say oh yea my dad got rid of a guy stealing power tools. So if you don't mind having a guy cut your grass for 2 bucks. Have a guy rob you home in day light, then your good.Unfortunately I called a friend and the 2 bucks to get your grass cut is about to stop the IRS and immigration are now in Frisco documenting activity. Thanks to a power tool thief. Cops are all over this place and are very nice, which makes the power tool thief story worse, he is more than likely not working or can't but stealing right down the street for his family or cash paying hustle he was doing. Next time around I will allow what the military trained me to do the next time someone Read More

Growing Fast - 5/18/2015
Frisco is a great place to live i have lived here for 6 years now and there are lots of great schools and places to go to but Frisco is growing and getting more expensive it may not be Frisco exactly but McKinney and Plano and Frisco are definitely growing because lots of companies are moving here for instance gearbox and Toyota of america sadly me and my family are moving because we will be able to pay of our debt if we do because our house right now is very high priced on the market so yes it is a great place to live but right now the whole fort worth Dallas area is exploding with people coming in.  Read More
