Good Jobs and not much else - 3/15/2013
I have lived here 2is years with my family. I have lived in many different cities and states. The positive things about here: Most people here are respectful, ex yes sir, yes mam and most people here are friendly. Also there are alot of good payong jobs for whatever you do.
Cons: very concrete feeling. Ex. You dont have Beautiful mountains, there is no ocean close by, and the have something called cedar fever lookit up if you plan on moving here. Not to sound to cynical, yet there may very well be a reason why the houses are so affordable here. Read More

Austin & Round Rock Texas - 12/18/2010
My husband & I recently relocated to Round Rock, Texas which is 20 minutes north of Austin. We lived in New Orleans prior to coming to the Lone Star State. We actually live in Round Rock which is 20 minutes north of Austin. It is close enough to the city and Round Rock is safe with friendly, well-educated people and a great school system. The people here are laid back and home prices are quite reasonable. You do get a lot for your money in terms of real estate.
The atmosphere is quaint and unique. Plus we are just minutes away from small towns worth a day trip which we take on Read More

Housing Recovery Starting - 10/29/2010
I have been watching housing closely and have noticed that while the number or properties sold is relatively flat the median price is slowly edging back up. I have heard most people miss the bottom because they don't buy until it is clearly over. Looks like we might be starting to move back up in real estate Read More

High Desert Area of Calif. vs. Round Rock, Texas - 7/13/2010
We live in the High Desert Area of California and have seen it change significantly over the last 20 years. In the 90's it was a community where everyone wanted to live, and could afford to, but there was no work available.People came here because of the size of property you could buy at a very affordable price. Now it's a community where no one wants to live and still can't afford to leave because there hasn't been any work for several years. Foreclosures are at a high rate and businesses are closing down. We don't see any relief in sight. Our son took his family, and a big chance, and just overnight relocated to Round Rock, Texas, where both he and his wife found work almost immediately. they are still employed today. Our granddaughters go to a small local school where there are still after school programs and Saturday school for kids needing specific help with studies. Teachers stay after class to help a student instead of clearing out as the bell is still ringing. My Read More
