If I am going to have to live in Dallas, which right now I do, I will continue to live in Rowlett. I love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else in Dallas. We moved here 3 months ago from the North Dallas area. Rowlett is a smaller suburb but large enough to have community amenities like festivals, youth sports, community center, water park, etc. It's very quiet too, and you can actually see the stars at night which I love! Short distance to Dallas. And it's growing well, housing prices are very good and they are going up at a good pace. If you can find a place to work that requires you to take 190 to get there, it's a great (although not cheap) commute. I do worry about what Rowlett will look like in 5 or 10 years though, we have a lot of growth coming in and 190 will cut through by next year. The Dart Rail will also be coming in a few years.
