opportunities for theatre, music, museums abound in houston-20+ miles away, however traffic is bad from morning to late night and tickets are quite expensive. Museums have one free admission day but free cultural community events are rare.
Cowboy/rodeo/macho mentality prevails in the outlying areas.

With a college-age son, it is nice to have nearby Tomball College. The facility is excellent, the public library is actually part of the college campus and has extended hours. Here you can have ALL the great stores and malls right near you, but still feel like you live in a suburban area. Housing prices are unbeatable and neighborhoods are lovely.
