Thoughts from a future "Winnsboroan" - 8/23/2021
I have lived in DFW for past 7 years, and before that in Tyler traveling the back roads of north east Texas for 11 years as a salesperson. I was always drawn to Winnsboro, as it is nestled amongst rolling terrain and is a cross roads town away from hustle and bustle of interstates.
There is a charming downtown, which seemed to have reached its zenith in the early aughts. My wife and I spent our fourth anniversary here during this boom period, in a really nice historic B&B(still operating), caught a local concert at a live music venue and then dinner at one of many lively restaurants. The town was replete with coffee shops, arts and wine tasting. Much of the businesses died off in early-teens, due possibly to being a bit ahead of its time, capitalizing on its charm without the requisite populace to support the many venues.
Longing for the charm and conservative values of the area, my wife and I purchased land right outside of Winnsboro and plan to retire there in a Read More

Great little Texas town - 2/21/2021
I've been in and out of Winnsboro quite a bit over the years, and I totally disagree with the person who states Winnsboro people are mean. I've found this to be a very welcoming town, people are friendly and offer to help, even if they don't know you. I've lived in Tx most of my life (Dallas, Plano, Parker, Waco, Victoria, Andrews, and Sherman) and Winnsboro rates at the top. I've lived in other states (Ohio, Kansas, Washington, New Jersey, and now Arkansas) and Winnsboro people are still the best. I currently live in a gated community in central Arkansas, but if I returned to Texas as a retiree, I would put Winnsboro at the top of my list of places to consider.
It's a great little town, good people, and the scenery outside of town is pretty good too.  Read More

Winnsboro, Texas - 5/4/2019
I've lived in Winnsboro for seventeen years, and it's a great little town. I have made this my home for myself and my children. Our town has been growing every year. It's full of friendly, hard working people, and I'm proud of the way our town continues to make improvements. We are having a brand new high school built, and down town looks great. It's a great place to visit and a better place to Read More

Winnsboro Residents - 6/16/2010
For some unknown reason, the majority of people in Winnsboro, Texas are mean and hateful. It is truly astonishing how prevalent this is. There is also an extraordinary amount of drug usage, and so many people simply do not have any respect for themselves or for others. Good and considerate people never stay in Winnsboro for very Read More
