Huge sense of community! - 10/29/2018
Born and raised here in Washington. Moved away to San Francisco, California for a decade and just moved back. I live walking distance from downtown and love it. Huge sense of community as this city hosts so many events. I love the easy access to freeways and I love the beauty of being close to the waterfront. Great boutique shops and restaurants.  Read More

Camas is the best place to live???? - 11/11/2017
Camas is a wonderful area which has so many beautiful trails with access to the river. The school system is superb. Prune Hill is such a wonderful place to live and walk to stay healthy. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the easy access to Portland (which we totally try to avoid) No offense but Portland is truly crazy and unsafe lately and only getting worse! Thanks to the clueless officials running it Shame on you! The homelessness is truly out of control and urine is all you smell. Very close to a hepatitis outbreak like San Diego and Los Angeles currently has if they do not address the situation. If you are forced to go to Portland as soon as you hit the freeway coming back you can't wait to leave the place! You come home to beautiful Camas and thank your lucky stars you live in such a beautiful place! Read More

Culture it ain't - 3/26/2017
This town has no culture outside the high school. The downtown has scruffy mill taverns to accentuate the smelly pulp mill across the street. Housing is not affordable (sorry Bert) unless you're making $75K or more. The train runs 40-50 times a day from Pasco and the horn blows in the middle of the night. Read More

Crying Shame... - 2/19/2007
Camas is no longer the Camas I, my parents, grandparents and greatgrandparents grew up in. As the profile will tell you it is becoming Ritz-ville. Which wouldn't be so bad if they weren't such horrible people. They are forcing out the average-joe in this town. They have helped to bring the paper mill to it's demise. Get this, they buy land, build a fancy house, and when the wind blows the smoke from the smoke stack towards their homes they complain and try legal action. The mill has already started lay-offs, which would account for the higher unemployment rate, and there is about a 5 year plan to completely shut down the mill.

Oh, and get this, I know a few people who owned homes in the millionaire development area. So the developers, the city, and some of the new local millionaires have written up plans that have roads going through my friends living rooms. Their homes are average homes, built some time ago so they could raise their kids and retire in it, however Read More
