In 1994 I bought a house on the East side in Douglas, Coffee County Georgia and lived here two years. The community & quality of life was so pleasant I looked forward retiring there in our house on East Jefferson Street and did so in 2017. It was a mistake. Douglas changed and a blight infects this place. Don't leave anything out and lock your car doors. The public school system is equally depressing.. But there is a good private school. The golf course is the only neighborhood I would consider living in. There are a few nice subdivisions outside the city limits. I moved away last year but my wife stayed because she grew up here and all her family is here. Anyway, this is my opinion.
