Forward Thinking, Great Economy and Super Livable - 3/9/2018
I am not a native Minnesotan, but I have lived in the state longer than any other place that I've lived, which includes Detroit area, Washington DC, Dallas and the Milwaukee area. I have met some of my best friends here, and yes, while they have some crazy Nordic Lutefiskian ways, they are friendly and open. The "passive aggressive" is more of a cultural issue and has nothing to do with MN, but more to do with whatever northern European country their people came from. It's expensive here, but the quality of life is amazing. We left for 8 awful years in the complacent and segregated Milwaukee, WI area and couldn't wait to get back. People are more likely to compost, recycle, follow the arts, be tolerant, be involved in their community and be kind. The winters can really suck...but the summers are so incredibly amazing that one visiting may never want to leave.
