Thoughts on KY from a KY born and raised resident. - 4/24/2020
So, I've lived in KY my whole life, born in Bowling Green, and raised just outside of Glasgow. I graduated from Barren County High School in 2017, and currently attend classes at the local SKYCTC campus (online right now dude to the pandemic)
I can probably count the number of times I've left this state on one hand. I've never seen the ocean. So, take my opinions for what you will, I wouldn't have much of anything to compare my home to since I have lived anywhere else before.
Glasgow is a small town, not the smallest but pretty rural. In the ways of jobs, the most you will find are with retail/ customer service industry, teaching, healthcare, factory/warehouses and agriculture. You may find some niche positions in some businesses or offices around here if you have a specific degree but it's unlikely. Spot on Stephanie! I bought a beautiful historic home overlooking the Mississippi River thought it would be wonderful. Although the people seemed very friendly at first. gossip is all they are capable of talking about. Met so many people who can not read or write. So many of residents have been in jail or prison. (Wow) Even wealthy people in this small town are crooks and trashy. Everybody ripped me off! It's not an ignorant generization ITS TRUTH. Don't move to Commonwealth state either. Kentucky my point of view from experience - 11/9/2015
I have lived in the following counties: Jefferson, Fayette, Grayson, Hardin, Daviess, Warren, Taylor, Adair, Pulaski. Here are the pros and cons from experience.
Jefferson lots of jobs and new businesses, professional but not that personal, lots of activities. School quality depends on neighborhood. High violent crime and outrageous utility rates and insurance premiums.
Fayette similar to Jefferson but with lower utility rates and slightly lower insurance rates.
Grayson is the best of both the big city/small town worlds. The people are nice, professional, friendly but not nosey, helpful, schools are better than average, low crime and well located.
Hardin is a poor, overtaxed county that politics, gossip, some crime is normal. Schools are about average. Locals are rude and not helpful.
Daviess is a decent place with good schools both public and private. Crime is low and utilities are about average. They have interesting activities. Housing costs are Read More

Cave City and Ky in General - 5/30/2012
Kentucky is one of the worst places you can live. I've lived in Edmonton, visited other towns/cities here, and right now am living in Cave City. All places in KY are basically the same.
The people here are TRASH no matter where you go. The people here are really stupid and half can't spell to save their lives. The education systems here is insanely bad so that's why. Almost everyone here is on food stamps, disability, and/or SSI.

New To Kentucky and loving it. - 12/11/2011
I lived in Texas for 7 years. The actual crime rate is the highest in the US. I was disappointed in the denigration that existed, the saggers, the drugs, violence, and general disrespect of those I lived among. After a few years of perusing many states and cities, I decided it was time to move and buy a house. I did so and thus far have not been disappointed. The tax structure, neighbors, weather, trees, places to go, and shopping opportunities are remarkable. Now I know there are those who don't see the beauty of Kentucky, but then I am retired, and ready to relax at a slower pace of life. I don't have work responsibilities, I don't need to go to bars, and become a social extravert. For retired persons, I feel that Northern Kentucky offers all I could need and want and from what I have experienced here I see nothing to reply in the negative. I think it depends on your age. What a shame - 9/11/2010
I have recently moved here to the bluegrass state, it's a bueatiful state, everything is so green and freshing to see. I have notice that the crime in Louisville has gone upwards from what the news has said. Another area that I will mention is the area around elizabethtown and that the people don't seem to be that friendly, they seem to be noisey and rude.
