Lots to do in Maryland and beautiful state - 10/1/2017
I was born here and sill live here 43 years later, the thing I don't like is the cold winters, we can get very cold and get plenty of snow and the summer can get very humid slightly un predictable weather and for me its bad flu seasons with the changes but I love the activities and its a beautiful state, lots to explore and see and nice shopping malls and great food, especially Maryland crab and sea foods, the people on the other hand some are friendly and some act stuck up, it depends on who you meet, people seem un predictable as well but I guess that is everywhere, we have lots of History here and great radio stations as well as some fairly good hospitals like St Joes , Greater Balt, medical and Johns hopkins. we have the Baltimore Aquarium as well which I love but sadly the Baltimore city area and Aquarium area has gone down hill due to violence, its a slighlty high cost as well to live here in MD land cost and house prices are just kinda high. I would have given MD 3 1/2 stars Read More

Great... if you fit in - 7/6/2017
Since my family moved to Maryland we have experienced numerous electrical and plumbing catastrophes, including small fires in the house, because of incompetent utility workers and illegal wiring. We have also been kicked out of several houses because the landlords were fickle and petty (we didn't fall behind on rent or break any rules). The only house we were nearly forced to stay in was the illegally wired, fire-hazardous one.

Personally I have, so far, dropped out of church and quit my job because I was bullied (including sexual harassment) in both just for being different, and no matter what I did, it wouldn't stop. In my experience, Maryland is not a good place for the Read More

worst drivers - 3/2/2017
nobody from Maryland can drive. they cause so many accidents and block traffic with their bizarre driving habits. it's not just an urban legend, it's actually true. see someone driving way too slow or too fast, or blocking two lanes as they try to turn, or going the wrong way on a one way street? 8/10 times they have Maryland license Read More

DC bedroom - 5/30/2015
I'm in Maryland just 10 miles outside DC. Nothing really to say. I guess I live here because I work in College Park, where UMD is. All the culture and fun is 10 miles away in DC. Read More

Maryland is expensive - 9/7/2013
It is ridiculously expensive to live here. I have a master's degree with a full-time teaching job and I can't afford to move out of my parent's house. My wife and I will be re-locating as soon as possible, likely to Delaware where housing is much cheaper. You really need 2 full-time incomes to live in Maryland. 50K is about 15K too low to be able to have your own place unless you want to live in a ghetto in Baltimore or live really far away from work. That's especially true if you're paying student loans, by the way, but even without that I'd be having financial problems. I have a coworker (teacher) who works in my school in central Maryland area; her commute is 2 hours one way because it's cheaper farther out. Can't find a decent 1 bedroom apartment for less than $1100 here unless it is senior housing, a bad neighborhood, or near the border of another state. Read More

Recreation - 8/17/2013
There is a lot of things to do as far as recreation. Southern Maryland has the Chesapeke Bay where there is fishing, crabing, boating, jetskiing, windsurfing, and hunting. There is a lot of shoppig malls, parks, and restaurants. Annapolis has a lot of night clubs and is close to Washington DC. The cost of living is to high. I will move to another state when I Read More
