Detroit is a POOR place to live....

High crime, poor economy, no public transportation, terrible weather, did I mention High Crime.... I grew up in Detroit and some of the suburbs are of course better, but the weather and poor job market makes Detroit a poor. Unfortunately, the future prospects are poor.
