I don’t think that’s the case. The problem is that to working class people, Huntsville used to be an affordable place to live with the convenience of the city. Now, with many people flocking to Huntsville because of it’s affordability, prices (especially rent prices) have gone up. Many lower middle class people are struggling to afford to live in their home city because of the increase in prices. No, it’s not little man syndrome, people are upset because it’s more expensive and the development is destroying the environment of the metro area. Locals are being displaced. Those “ol’ country southerners” aren’t upset about diversification, they’re upset because their home is being bulldozed for another neighborhood of copy-paste houses, and small-minded people like you who look down on them for their way of life are moving into them
