As good a nightlife as you will ever need

I have a beleif that you can have as good a time in Pittsburgh as you can in just about any other city or town unless of course you are like many people who do not want to tolerate cold weather. The time I had at Station Square during Superbowl 40 and the afterparty was in about my top 5 party times ever and that list includes 5 trips to the sunshine state for springbreak. I will not delve into the tremendous Pro-Sports scene however( aside from the lowly pirates, although the stadium is world class even though the product is minor league)b/c it speaks for itself.
I Moved here about 2 years ago after attending college in South Carolina, although I grew up in PA. I think the bar scene here in Pittsburgh is great. Very cheap to drink when compared to many other middle sized cities and certainly cheaper than the largest cities. I estimate that for every 5 you spend here at a bar you would be throwing away a 20 in Chicago or elsewhere(I know, the per capita income is higher there, but still). Also I have read and heard bad things about the singles scene although I have found there to be too many opportunites. With great Universities downtown such as Pitt and CMU there will always be Young and attractive people flocking to Southside and the strip. Every hour of every day someone is turning 21. This assures that us in our 20's(or 30's) will never run out of new people to meet nomatter what city we live in. The nightlife may not be SouthBeach but remember you can only get sooo drunk, whether its Friday in Station Square or Tuesday at Mardi Gras. And there is a finite amount of opportunites when you can actually go out due to other less appealling aspects of life. I guess what I am trying to say is to not choose a city to live in (or remain in) just because you think it will be more fun somewhere else. Because afterall if you start a family someday do you really want to try and ignore the thousands of 18-22 year olds laying topless in their thongs on South Beach while your spouse is building a sandcastle with the kids?!
