Run TO Syracuse!

The last person who posted here is a little extreme. I was born and raised in Syracuse. I visited home recently and it was beautiful, green, with open spaces, no traffic, and lots to do. I agree that some downtown areas are decrepit and depressed, but I live in Southern California right now, and there is plenty of that here, and even right in the middle of it, it costs a fortune to live! At least in Syracuse, a person with a decent job can afford a place to live! My family lives in Liverpool, and it's a wonderful area. Stay away from Salina st. and those areas and you'll be fine, just like you'd stay away from Compton in Los Angeles.
