Unless you're hiding in a "planned" gated community, you can't ignore the fact that Tucson is full of petty thieves, illegal aliens and drug runners. My uncle had his house broken into twice and lost his antique gun collection. I grew up there in the 70s but all the overbuilding and crime makes this a place to visit, not live. It's really sad, too, because I adore the Sonoran desert, or what's left of it.
