Think before you move here

Husband and I moved here in 2006 from the Midwest. Bought a house when prices were on the upswing. Now our house is worth $40,000 less than what we paid. Graffitti is everywhere-even in the better parts of town (we live on the NW side).
Although my co-workers and some neighbors are friendly, for the most part Tucson is not a friendly place.
Downtown has a worn look and you don't have to look far to find homeless and others who sleep at Presidio Park or on the main library grounds.
This is not the Tucson of my Snowbird grandparents, so I remember how nice Tucson was way back. Nothing stays the same and Tucson is no exception.
We will be moving back home sometime this summer as my husband was laid off 8 months ago and there is not much opportunity here.
