Susanville has most of the raptors that you see in the US. I see deer in the city streets daily. I've seen beaver, coyote, wolf, bear, martins, racoon, fox, skunk, cougar, and evidence of a porcupine. We have nearby herds of antelope. We've got rabbits, badgers, wild cat, squirrels, and I once saw a wolverine. This place is great for stream and lake fishing. The weather varies a lot with the seasons, but is really nice a lot of the time. If you like the outdoors, or just sharing your space with a higher variety of creatures, then Susanville is the place for you.
