Review of Albany, Oregon

I'll pass thank you...

Now I know why this place is referred to as "The armpit of Oregon". After living there for 10 years it became like living in a dirty and dark closet. What an awful place.

While being treated for bulimia in Malibu , California, the prestigious medicalc consultants established at Cedars-Sinai Medical Cente, were amazed by the excellent care I received in Albany , Oregon that allowed me to live. They were extremely impressed by their supplementation of potassium and ingenious dosing protocols which were extremely complex as just a little too much or too little tpotassium will stop your heart and when soneone purges varying amounts day to day , well the medical care I had in Albany was better than the creme of the crop knew how to provide. That is awfully impressive as are the call a Lebanon doctor made that saved my mother's life. Had he done anything different than what he had , she would have died. My father was also the 2nd person in Oregon back in 1978 where a catheter was used go drain fluid off the heart after a massive heart attack , now common practice but I'd say for a small town , they have some of the state's smartest medical professionals.

Zero culture? Only because you have to be ignorant to say such a thing. Albany has an amazing nationally recognized historic home registry because of the efforts of many forward thinking Albany residents especially a former Mayer and his wife , in the 1960s and 70s and is actually well known to preservationists. Albany Civic Theater has exceptionally good theater; again in the 1970s ,a local actress who also appeared regularly on the Waltons was active and Mari Calson was a truly exceptional seamstress and everything set design , acting , stage who was invaluable to cementing Albany's community theater's reputation for excellence. The carousel project is another gem. Concerts in Monteith began back in the 1980s to bring free live music to the masses and has featured Mike Naismith, Pink Martini, Dixie Chicks (when they just made it big, guess they are the Chicks now thank God)...you can lead a fool to culture but it doesn't mean they can appreciate what they are not equipped to recognize.

A place is what you make it, you made it bad for you...it is better if you do leave if you are not happy. Most of us love it in my experience.

Mean spirited, unforgiving and biased comments are sad and make me feel bad for those who feel these emotions. My neighbors here and I certainly do not agree that this place is undesirable at all.

I agree. Small town, low life thug attitude with predominately crooked town leaders and all through the ranks. The healthcare is a joke and its very hard to find a doctor. The housing market is high for low quality construction. Blue-collar, redneck, small town mentality with a lot of closed minded attitude. Its a vile place full of low lives and zero culture/class.
