Review of Greenwo,

Working hard to ESCAPE is redneck town
Star Rating - 3/21/2018
Greenwood has a mall, a bunch of fast food joints and tons of right-wing, Trump loving 'necks' to fill them. I often have to remind myself that this is technically the north, but with all the rebel flags and Republicans running unopposed in elections you'd never know it. The big event would probably be the annual county fair in nearby Franklin, and of course the sold out Demolition Derby. Seriously, there is a lot of bitching and moaning about things needing to get better here, yet these rubes keep electing carbon copy Republicans - Gee, wonder why things never get any better. I saw a sticker on the back of a car (I KID YOU NOT) it was a caricature of Trump peeing on the word "Democrats" - yeah, that's the mentality here. The roads are truly awful here and the drivers not much better. Road signs and traffic lights? Those are "suggestions" here, and traffic on 135 at rush hour is soul crushing for a podunk town. Seriously, in a big metro area you sort of accept it because of the large population. Greenwood is about 56,000 strong and you'd think they are all on 135 at 5pm. Then there is the Greenwood Police. The nicest thing about them is their shiny new, black and white Dodge Charger cop cars. All they do is pull over and ticket drivers for speeding (I say this and I actually got a warning when pulled over for doing 35 in a 25) BUT where are they when (daily) I see people blowing through red lights??? Nowhere. They are not much help when you call for help either. The Fire Department is very busy and helpful and friendly. But aren't all Fire Departments? I can actually see downtown Indianapolis from my home in Greenwood, but I feel much farther from civilization than that. In closing, if rebel flags, right wing nut jobs and El Camino's up on blocks is your thing, Greenwood is the place.

Your critique is harsh but not totally inaccurate. You're only telling half the story though. There's lots of nice people here. I only know of 2 or 3 houses that fly rebel flags, it's not like the majority of people do. Republican and Trump voters seem to be majority, so if that bothers you take note. Weather is nice 4 or 5 months a year. Pretty quiet, can keep to yourself and do your own thing. Not tons of stuff to do but there definitely are things to do if you want to go do things. It's not bad but we are planning on moving because the weather and barometric pressure changes ALL THE TIME and it messes with my sinuses and triggers migraines regularly.

“...ESCAPE is redneck town...” You mean, “this” town? Details aren’t your strong suit, and that’s apparent in both your review title and nearsighted appraisal of Greenwood’s economy and surroundings.
