St. Joe is a great place for older retired folk. There are nice quiet beaches, and small shops to buy souvenirs. Basically it's very quiet and relaxed. But if you're younger than 30, this probably isn't the place for you. There's really not much for us (20 somethings) to do here. If you like a young, social atmosphere, look somewhere else. If you like a bigger city feel, this is definitely NOT the place for you. Try Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids or Ann Arbor.
I've lived here for 3 years and this is by far one of the worst places for young professionals and/or single people. Can't wait to leave.
