Outsiders ruined this state for me (A NATIVE)
Star Rating - 5/31/2019
I am a colorado native. I was born here and have lived here 24 years. I used to love it here, 10 years ago i would have given it 4 stars, But ever since it was THE FIRST state to legalize weed (not against it, i smoke it) but the state has changed so much because of it being the first one to do that so it gets a 1 star. It has mad the state populated, there is development everywhere (when it used to be so open), the mountains are crowded and dirty now, the traffic sucks, its getting more and more expensive and colorado doesn't pays well at all, you need 3 jobs just to barley be on your own, people are rude, everyone keeps moving here, its not even famous for mountains anymore, every tourist, new person living here, and people i hear on social media, and when i go out of town when they find out I'm in colorado ask about the weed. That has ruined my state and i hate it and what its become, and what everyone moving here has done to it. I went to cali for my 5 year anniversary for a week, and everyone there when they asked where I was from asked about the weed, when i landed in denver, it smelled like factories, gas and weed, it used to smell good like mountains and pine trees. Its not the state i used to love. And it never will be. Theres nothing here for me except my pets, mom sister and boyfriend. As soon as i get the money I'm out of here because everyone moving here for the weed has made impossible for natives to live here and are chasing them out. Thats whats happening with me

That's such a stupid attitude, I'm glad you're leaving! Sure, traffic is worse and there's a bunch of stupid stoners around, but if you think either of those will improve for you in Cali you should have your brain examined. Move to Montana where you don't have to interact with anyone, you'd do great there...

I think grumpy natives who keep STATING they are a native ruin the vibe in first place. Imagine how neurotic, stupid you look with those stickers and your "my state" attitude when you're not even a Native American. I've lived all over the place and haven't seen this attitude even in Texas. Very regressive, as if you have a superiority complex.

This is to Tina's reply: DURRR he's a native as in he grew up and was born there. He seen the change in his lifetime. Durr he has fam there so that's tha main reason to stay. He's proud of what CO used to be. Reading it i can't blame him. I'm native to Cali cause i was born/grew up there (yay me i still like my hometown) and my mom is native to Manila, Philippines cause she grew up there but my dad is from America and always travelled. He can't say he's this or that state native. He hasn't seen change to a place until i was born when he finally stayed still but it's diff. He wasnt born to an area although he says he loves Minnesotans. But wow you hinting Jamie cant complain cause he's not TRULY generations forever there. i know NOBODY who knows their ancestral nativeness past 4 generations. It's rare. And if they did they wouldn't know the place truly is like someone who grew up there and watched the change. Natives know the details. Ugh you have such a high horse and simplified thinking. Development and the pollution that follows is a universal issue. I feel that. I respect that concern.

To be so jaded and miserable at 24 years old (25/26 now?). Remember, no matter where YOU go, there YOU are.

You can consider yourself a native because you were born here but somewhere in your family someone moved to Colorado from another state and ruined it for someone else. Pot is becoming available in more places, so that will works itself out. Colorado has many things to offer, it's not always the obvious. Stay Colorado proud but keep telling the out of staters how much Colorado sucks, lol!

Everything you said is 100% true. I grew up here and moved away for a while, when I came back it was nothing like where I grew up. EVERYTHING is geared around pot, everyone wakes up with attitude hating the world. I’m moving again and not coming back.
