Soft Housing market

The price of housing is very reasonable in the city and Ashley county; however, the market is and has been a soft market for years. To say that there has been virtually no new home construction in the city for at least five to seven years is not unreasonable -- there can be an exception that is unknown to me. As in all cities or towns, you can find a wide diversity of real estate (single family dwellings), but you can certainly find a home in a 'good' part of town for considerably below $100 per square foot. In some parts of town, you can also pay too much at $50 per foot, so buyer beware.
