Stay away a constitutional no-go zone & cigarettes

The Good: Cheap Housing, good dentist, some good elementary school teachers, a great middle school band instructor (Mr Patterson), the Hintons, no traffic, awesome Mexican restaurant.
The bad:
We moved here from another state 10 years ago and I have lived and traveled all over the US. We envisioned a great small town to raise a family with open minded and friendly people but it is the complete opposite. This area of the country is extremely boring to live in, contaminated rivers and lakes all over the state, and the people will give you extreme culture shock. The only thing they are concerned with is a failing basketball team and Christianity. The government appears to be controlling the media (newspaper) so you never get the real story about things happening in the town, only what they want you to know about. If you are an outsider, you will always be treated as such, but it will not bother you because there isn't anything to talk to these people about unless its their basketball team. You also do not have constitutional rights here, it is a no-go zone where the police make up their own laws as they go with a "catch and release" type of mentality and do not honor your rights as they would in a real town. They also frequently have roadblocks setup like Nazi Germany and expect your full submission during police encounters.
The weather is also horrible, during the late spring to late October, the weather is hot and muggy, too much so to enjoy the outdoors. We compare the heat and humidity with Florida in the summer and its actually cooler in Florida on most days. You will only get a couple of weeks a year when you an open your windows.
It also seems like everyone here smokes cigarettes. You cannot go anywhere without smelling 3rd hand smoke on people or walking over cigarette butts in parking lots and being dragged in stores. Ashtrays are setup at store entrances and burn like incense for your enjoyment as you walk in. In the winter time, people must be smoking with their windows up in their cars because they literally smell so bad it will make you gag. We have flowers delivered to our home and they reeked of cigarettes and I was lucky to get a refund.
The school system is also bad, they do not have the resources to prepare kids for college and their college preparedness score is 17/100 (up from 11/100). Their old high school principal Goodlett is sitting in a federal prison for child pornography which he obtained from students phones and uploaded pictures, etc to Russian websites. Christianity is being pushed into these schools with bibles and who knows what else because parents are not allowed to question what happens here. Parents have also been banned from the school system. People don't mind because the newspaper has them believe this is greatest school system around and why would you question the local paper.
