Review of Henderson, Nevada

Not all it's cracked up to be
Star Rating - 12/29/2019
We currently live in Henderson and I am less than impressed. We moved here from Washington State, so we're used to really friendly people and courteous drivers. People here are emotionally detached and fairly rude and the drivers SUCK! No turn signals, people run red lights, and you get honked at if you don't move immediately. I haven't been here that long and I already can't wait to move away. Praying that a year goes by quickly.

I guess it all depends upon what part of Washington state you live in. I live in Southwest Washington State and it sucks here. Most of the people are Green Acres, backwoods hillbilly types with no manners or upbringing. The people are not friendly and the drivers are egregious. Homes for 300,000 are literally depressing places you would not want to live in. Everyone from California is moving to Southwest Washington State bidding up home prices and paying cash for homes driving up unrealistic prices and preventing locals from getting a house! The weather absolutely sucks in Washington State. It's like a dark, foreboding Gotham City from October to June. Grey skies rain and no sunsine. The nicer area of Southwest Washington like Ridgefield Washington is becoming a crowded gridlock cramming homes in small lots. Other supposedly nicer areas like Salmon Creek, and Fishers Landing are still gross. There are homeless camps all over Washington State and you will find a vagabond going through your garbage like a cemetery fly on trash day. Almost all new construction is boring, copycat, Craftsman style homes with few windows, and as of 2020 the median price for a decent home without necessary builder upgrades is $400,000! Car insurance is expensive here because there are a lot of uninsured losers driving late model 90s cars with one headlight broken and a dent in the rear quarter panel- Yes, that is the class of people you'll have to deal with here! The two to three months of summer sunshine makes it an somewhat nice place to live however it often just puts a spotlight on what is ugly here. I'm only living here because I have a somewhat decent job paying decent money otherwise I'd be out of here in a heartbeat! before you make a move to Washington State I sincerely suggest you take a year and visit during the different seasons.

Henderson, NV is great place to live. Some rude people in every corner of earth. How many places in America have beautiful sunny blue sky, magnificent mountain, new infrastructure, gorgeous night sky with glittering stars. No tax, law cost of living, business friendly. Come on fellow Americans, get down to Nevada and fire up the rusted cold engine with power of sunshine.

If you live in Henderson or anywhere in Southern Nevada better bring your own Water. The Colorado river is drying up. INSANE to have so many Golf Courses and homes in a Dry Desert !!

We are considering moving to Henderson for retirement, but not after reading your comments. We also live in Washington stare where drivers and people are courteous. Where did you or will you go? We need to escape the winters here.

I'm not sure where you lived in WA but I have never known the drivers to be courteous, ever! Not my 35 years there nor the times I go back to visit family. I will keep my Henderson for years to come. I do hope you find a place you really love.

Lmao. This is the miami of the desert. We love Henderson because we like living in a city with everything u need and the strip 20 mins away. Traffic is not an issue unless ur scared . Growing up in Boston and living In Miami makes this place look like some backwards vermont town. We dont want anymore californians here unless ur conservative. The LA area that moved here have ruined this state. If u want to move here keep ur politics where u left.
